Gouting

The essence of the grouting method is to utilize pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrochemical principles to inject curable grout into natural or artificial cracks and pores. This process enhances the physical and mechanical properties of the surrounding medium to achieve anti-seepage, plugging, reinforcement, and correction of building deviations.
Grouting materials can be categorized into cement grouting, clay grouting, and chemical grouting, depending on their composition. Based on its purpose, grouting can be applied for curtain grouting, consolidation grouting, contact grouting, joint grouting, backfill grouting, prestressed grouting, and reinforcement grouting.

The grouting method has broad applications in civil engineering, including foundation treatment for dams, such as sand and gravel foundations, karst caves, and weak fault interlayers. It is also used for housing foundations, including general and vibration foundations, as well as for repairing existing buildings. In road infrastructure, it applies to highways, railways, and airport runways. Additionally, it plays a critical role in underground structures like water conveyance tunnels, mine tunnels, underground railways, and power plants.
Other specialized uses of grouting include pre-filled aggregate grouting, post-tensioning anchor rod grouting, and post grouting of cast-in-place piles. These methods ensure structural stability and improve soil properties for a variety of engineering projects.
