Vibroflotation and Stone Columns Piles

The vibroflotation method, also known as the vibration and water flushing method, is a foundation reinforcement technique developed on the principle that sandy soil foundations can be compacted by the combined action of water and vibration. Initially applied to construct vibration and replacement gravel piles in cohesive soil layers, this method has become a widely utilized foundation improvement solution for stabilizing poor soils and meeting structural foundation requirements. Vibroflotation technology is now extensively employed in diverse areas of foundation engineering, including highways, railways, thermal power plants, petrochemical storage facilities, port and dock reclamation, and municipal and civil engineering projects worldwide.

Dating back over forty years, the predecessor of the China Electric Power Construction Group’s vibration punching team from the Beijing Survey, Design, and Research Institute pioneered the research and development of vibration punching technology and its associated construction techniques in China.
Since then, the group has developed and manufactured advanced equipment, including the BJV electric vibration punching machines with power outputs ranging from 25 to 260 kilowatts, hydraulic vibration punching machines, HD series machines, and comprehensive dry bottom discharge vibration punching systems.
These technologies are complemented by fully automated monitoring and data recording systems, enabling precise control of construction processes.

Innovations in vibroflotation technology have expanded to encompass a wide range of construction techniques, such as free vibration and compaction, conventional hole-feeding vibration and compaction of gravel piles, bottom discharge vibration for gravel piles, and the vibration compaction of concrete piles. These advancements address various geological challenges and diverse engineering demands.
Over the years, these research outcomes have led to the acquisition of nearly 100 Chinese national patents in vibration and compaction technology.
As a leading organization in this field, our company has played a pivotal role in drafting technical standards for vibration compaction in multiple industries.
It has also contributed to the creation and revision of national industry standards in areas such as water conservancy and electricity, thermal power, ports, and vibration compaction equipment manufacturing. Additionally, the company has authored several academic publications on vibration compaction technologies and foundation treatment methods, cementing its reputation as a key innovator in this domain.
