Kuwait Babiyan Island Harbor Stage I Phase I Road, Bridge, and Foundation Construction Project

Kuwait

The Babiyan Island Seaport Project is a strategic initiative in Kuwait aimed at enhancing the country’s infrastructure level and promoting domestic economic development. The entire project is planned for completion in three phases over ten years.
The first phase of Stage I involves the construction of the port entrance passage, which includes soft foundation treatment, line engineering, and bridge engineering. The soft foundation treatment adopts plastic drainage board technology to ensure structural stability and durability.
Our company undertook the construction works for this project, completing a total work volume of approximately 17.3 million meters with precision and adherence to international quality standards.

Lok Ma Chau Loop Development Land Decontamination and PVD Advance Engineering Works

Hong Kong SAR

The Lok Ma Chau Loop Development Project is located between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, covering a land area of approximately 87.7 hectares formed by new and old Shenzhen waterways surrounding the Huanggang Lok Ma Chau Loop Port. This project marks the first comprehensive low-carbon initiative jointly undertaken by the Hong Kong and Shenzhen governments, with the goal of utilizing the land resources of Hetao for the construction of the “Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park”. The project will strengthen the strategic position of Hong Kong and Shenzhen in the Pearl River Delta region, providing long-term economic development benefits for both cities.
Our company was responsible for executing the drainage board works as part of the land pollution removal and preliminary engineering phases. The project involved the deployment of two plug-in board machines, completing approximately 45,000 locations and achieving a total project volume of 736,000 meters.

Shek Kwu Chau Integrated Waste Management Facilities Phase I Marine PVD Works

Hong Kong SAR

The Marine PVD (Prefabricated Vertical Drain) Works are part of the Integrated Waste Management Facilities Phase 1 project in Shek Kwu Chau, Hong Kong, aimed at significantly reducing urban solid waste volumes and recycling useful resources. The project involves constructing an artificial island of approximately 16 hectares, where advanced urban solid waste incineration and power generation facilities will be established. Once operational, the facility will process 3,000 tons of urban solid waste per day and generate 480 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, providing power for around 100,000 households. Full operation is expected by 2025.
The marine drainage board (PVD) works are located within the artificial island seawall reclamation area. The design specifies an equilateral triangle layout with a spacing of 1.2 meters for the drainage board points. The drainage boards penetrate the clay layer by 2 meters and reach a maximum depth of 35 meters.
Our company undertook the construction works, deploying specialized drainage board operation vessels equipped with four Korean BAEK JAE steel wire rope drainage board machines. During the project execution, the seawater depth ranged from 12 to 16 meters, and the total completed work volume reached approximately 1 million meters.

Yuen Long Water Treatment Facility Phase I PVD Works

Hong Kong SAR

The Yuen Long Water Treatment Facility Project in Hong Kong aims to address population growth and development in the Yuen Long area, improve the environment, and safeguard public health. The facility incorporates various green, energy-saving, and power generation technologies to achieve energy self-sufficiency upon completion. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion by 2027.
The project is under the jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Drainage Services Department, with the Baohua China Railway Joint Venture as the main contractor. Our company is responsible for the PVD (Prefabricated Vertical Drain) construction works, completing a total contract quantity of 6,204 meters during the construction period from November 2022 to December 2022.

Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Polycarbonate Foundation Pretreatment Project

Tianjin, China

The Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Polycarbonate Foundation Pretreatment Project involves the construction of a 260,000 tons/year polycarbonate production facility for Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd. The pretreatment area of the ground base spans 348,200 m², consisting of two primary methods: vacuum + pile-load combined preloading process for 330,200 m² and dynamic compaction for 18,000 m².
Construction commenced on September 30, 2016, and was successfully completed on May 30, 2018. The vacuum + stacking combined pre-compression treatment achieved a vacuum degree of ≥86.7 kPa and an average degree of consolidation of ≥92% for the soil layer within the depth of the drainage board. Additionally, the project successfully eliminated the liquefaction of the sandy soil layer in the A and C areas.

Key technical achievements include:

  • Vacuum + stacking combined pre-compression treatment area: 194,000 m²
  • Plastic drainage board (B type) construction: 3,682,954 meters
  • Clay sealing wall construction: Wall width of 1,200 mm totaling 19,000 meters
  • Medium coarse sand backfilling and rolling: 68,000 m3
  • Dynamic compaction: Energy level of 3,000 kN·m / 1,000 kN·m

The project delivered exceptional results across a total treatment area of 194,000 m2. For its outstanding performance and adherence to quality standards, the project was awarded the “2018 Best Contractor” by Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Co., Ltd..
